Pien on Paper, for Sunday
I realize this photo is perhaps a little odd, but I could only seem to get the drawings on the Toronto-based Ed Pien’s website to behave less fussily when screen-shot (BANG!), so here we are with one of his gorgeous manifestations complete with Mac Dock. It must be said that while part of me likes the somewhat blasphemous, (and likely headed for divorce) marriage of aesthetics, you really should go take a look at the things he does without all the visual noise I’ve included.
Sunday is a day-off, (or off-day) for me, and what better way to spend it than sharing with whomever might creep over this way some of the work on paper I’ve just recently been introduced to, and am absolutely swooning over. While Pien is obviously up to far, far more than this drawings and others like it, (his installation work in and of itself could take up many more posts and time pondering them) I haven’t yet had the chance or the inclination to stray past the pastures of this little land, a piece of which is replicated here.
My first love will always be pen, gouache, scratches, motion and alone-ness on paper. Tucked in a corner with some warm sounds a little out of reach and the weight of drawing in hand.

Hey there,
Like your site, but I wish that the authors of the posts were more identifiable…like a “posted by” thing at the end of a post. Is there a reason why that isn’t in place?
Thanks! :)
If you look underneath the titles of each post, our names are there (however small) in pink writing….hope that helps!
Thanks for the nice comment about the website!
